The role
We are looking for a Sales Manager/Director to drive our growth as the first-choice VDR provider in Japan. Based in Tokyo 🇯🇵 and reporting directly to the VP of East Asia Business Development, you’ll build up and lead our first high-performing sales team in Japan to foster key partnerships, explore untapped markets, and achieve our ambitious revenue targets.
Your strategic initiatives will shape the industry with cutting-edge VDR solutions while ensuring an exceptional client experience. We seek a proven sales leader with a strong Japan network who’s passionate about value-based selling, team development, and performance excellence. You’ll analyze sales metrics to inform strategies and coach your team to exceed targets.

What you will do
Hire and lead a team of Field Sales professionals, owning a rapid onboarding process for new team members
Mentor and coach team members to meet personal and business goals while driving performance appraisals and encouraging continuous learning & development
Define, manage, and track operational metrics, driving functional outcomes, and reporting key insights to the executive team and board
Align with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Finance, and executive teams on business objectives
Cultivate new business opportunities and develop strategic partnerships for immediate and long-term success
Support closure of high-value deals while leading by example in customer interactions and deal management
Represent the company at industry events and leadership forums, demonstrating our values and vision
Stay current on market trends, competition, and industry best practices to inform strategic planning
What you bring
At least 8 years of hands-on experience in new business development sales with 4+ years of outbound sales managerial experience
Experience managing high-velocity and high-volume sales strategies in more than one geographic area
Professional sales background within the B2B SaaS industry with solid expertise in transactional sales, methodologies, and negotiation practices
Experience managing 8+ employees across field sales teams, including hiring, motivating, coaching, and team development teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (C1+ level) to engage with global stakeholders and professional/native Japanese
Profound leadership skills with a passion for fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented team culture
High energy and enthusiasm for driving results, achieving goals, and delivering exceptional customer experiences
Nice to have
Experience in financial or consulting fields, understanding M&A
Experience in selling VDR products
